International Week of Action

Reality Check will be creating an activity to specially get the word out on how smoking in movies is a problem and that youth who see smoking on the big screen are more likely to start smoking.   Dr. Stan Glantz, who is a professor at UCSF says it this way, "younger adolescents who are more heavily exposed to smoking on film are two to three times as likely to start smoking, compared with the kids who are more lightly exposed."  In the past, we have rented Cumberland 12 and shown a movie that doesn't include smoking.  Stay tuned for what RC CFE is going to do to bring awareness on the subject.
